Abstract

English status as a foreign language for Indonesian society makes English difficult to learn whether it is from elementary school students or college students. Teachers need to prepare the implementation of learning well in order to achieve the goal of improving students' English language skills. This study aims to describe the Implementation of CLIL (Content And Language Integrated Learning) in the Science Learning Process for Class III at the International Islamic School Magetan. This study uses evaluation case study research. Data collection techniques using interviews, observations and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of CLIL in Science learning in class III is able to improve students' English language skills as seen from learning outcomes that show an increase in values ​​in English language skills. The implementation of CLIL in the learning process can improve students' English language skills with careful planning, implementation, and evaluation from both teachers and schools. In the implementation of CLIL implementation has been adjusted to the needs of students and the CLIL conceptual framework itself so that the goals that have been set are achieved properly. In addition to improving students' English language skills, CLIL is also able to improve students' cognitive aspects. The implementation of CLIL has been in accordance with the needs of class III students supported by the facilities and infrastructure provided by the school. The implementation of learning using the CLIL approach has fulfilled all aspects of the 4C CLIL, namely: Content, Cognition, Communication, and Culture. Students are able to balance between material and English as the language of instruction in school activities.
