Anggi Nanda Prastika. 2026. The Effect of the Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model Using Flash Card Media on the Early Reading Skills of First-Grade Students at SDN Buduran 02. Undergraduate Thesis. Primary School Teacher Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Early reading ability is a fundamental skill that must be mastered by elementary school students; however, there are still students who struggle with recognizing letters and reading syllables, words, and simple sentences. This situation highlights the need to implement a learning model capable of improving students' early reading skills. This study aims to determine the effect of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model, supported by flash card media, on the early reading skills of first-grade students at SDN Buduran 02. The study employs a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method and a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 12 first-grade students from SDN Buduran 02, selected using the saturated sampling technique. Data collection was conducted through early reading skill tests administered before (pretest) and after (posttest) the intervention. The data were analyzed using normality tests and the Paired Sample T-Test with the aid of IBM SPSS version 21. The results show that the average pretest score of 49.61 increased to 82.15 in the posttest. Hypothesis testing yielded a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05; thus, H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. Consequently, it can be concluded that the Jigsaw cooperative learning model using flash card media has a significant effect on the early reading skills of first-grade students at SDN Buduran 02.
