Abstract
This study aimed to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning method based on the Deep Learning approach on the technical writing skills of second-grade students at SDN Jiwan 01. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of 27 second-grade students, with Class IIA serving as the experimental group and Class IIB as the control group. Data were collected using a technical writing skills test and analyzed through normality testing, homogeneity testing, and the Independent Samples t-Test. The results indicated a significant difference in technical writing skills between the experimental group and the control group after the treatment. The mean post-test score of the experimental group was 84.29, while that of the control group was 76.77. The hypothesis testing showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Discovery Learning method based on the Deep Learning approach had a significant effect on the technical writing skills of second-grade students at SDN Jiwan 01, particularly in learning the proper use of capital letters.
