Abstract
This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to explain how to apply the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach in PPKn learning to increase the patriotism of class VI students at SDN Krebet 01. The CRT approach is a teaching method that combines students' cultural background, experiences, and ways of learning in the learning process to create a friendly and meaningful atmosphere. Loving one's homeland is the main focus in PPKn learning and is an important part in forming students' character from an early age. In this research, sixth-grade teachers and students were research participants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, document collection, and questionnaire distribution. Data was analyzed descriptively through several steps, namely reducing data, displaying data, and drawing conclusions. The research results indicate that the application of the CRT approach has a positive impact on enhancing students' sense of affection for their homeland. Students show enthusiasm, are actively involved in learning, and understand national values better. Although there are some problems related to the lack of facilities and resources, teachers and homeroom teachers still work together to create a learning environment that respects culture and national identity. This research concludes that the CRT approach is very effective in instilling the values of patriotism in students in elementary schools, and can be a learning method choice that is appropriate to the cultural diversity that exists in Indonesia.
