Abstract
Emma Widyawati, 2025. The Role of Teachers in Stimulating Pre-Writing Skills in 5-6 Year Olds at Cendekia Kids School Madiun. Thesis, Early Childhood Teacher Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Supervisors: (I) Sofia Nur Afifah, M.Pd., (II) Dr. Rosyida Nurul Anwar, S.Pd., M.Pd.I. Pre-writing skills are an important aspect of fine motor development that must be prepared before children enter the formal writing stage. Teachers have a strategic role in creating activities that can stimulate these skills through methods, media, and learning approaches that are appropriate to the characteristics of early childhood. This study aims to analyze the role of teachers in stimulating pre-writing skills in early childhood at Cendekia Kids School. Pre-writing skills are a crucial stage in early childhood development that can influence their future writing skills. This study used a qualitative approach to explore teachers' perceptions of their role in stimulating pre-writing skills. Data were collected through observation and interviews. Data analysis was conducted descriptively to provide an overview of the strategies, techniques, and media used by teachers to support children's pre-writing skills. The results of this study indicate that teachers play a role in planning, implementing, and evaluating pre-writing stimulation activities. Teachers develop lesson plans that integrate pre-writing activities into enjoyable play activities. During implementation, teachers provide appropriate guidance and create a conducive and interactive learning environment. Evaluations are conducted periodically to monitor the development of children's skills, and the results are used to develop subsequent activities.
