Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Discovery Learning model supported by infographic media on fifth-grade students’ ability to write expository texts at SDN Wayut 03 Madiun. The research employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method with a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The sample consisted of 15 students. Data were collected through essay tests and documentation. The results revealed that the students’ average pretest score was 58, while the average posttest score increased to 83. The t-test analysis indicated a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05. These findings suggest that the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the Discovery Learning model supported by infographic media has a significant positive impact on students’ ability to write expository texts.
