Abstract

The mathematical literacy of fifth-grade students at SDN Sukowiyono 1, as evidenced by observations and initial tests, indicates that students tend to be passive, do not yet understand the concept of story problems, and are unable to relate the material to real-life situations. The learning process still uses a lecture method without supporting media, making it less engaging and contextual. Based on these problems, this study aims to implement the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model supported by the Interactive Context Book. The aim is to describe the application of the CTL model supported by the Interactive Context Book to improve fifth-grade elementary school mathematics literacy and to describe teacher and student activities in the CTL model supported by the Interactive Context Book to improve fifth-grade elementary school mathematics literacy. The results showed a significant increase in students' mathematical literacy. In the pre-cycle phase, the average student score was only 64.12 with a 29% completion rate. After implementation in the first cycle, the average increased to 71.35 with a 47% completion rate, and in the second cycle, it increased to 83.52 with a completion rate of 88%. Teacher and student activity also improved from adequate to excellent. Thus, the implementation of the CTL model with the aid of the Interactive Context Book has proven effective in improving fifth-grade elementary school students' mathematical literacy.
