Abstract
In mathematics, the basic ability that students must have is the ability to count. Mathematics subjects, the addition material for grade 1 students, must be explained in concrete stages. In the preliminary study, several problems were found related to the media. Where the existing media is not in accordance with the characteristics of grade 1 elementary school students who think concretely. This research is a development research or (Rnd). The study aims to determine the media needs of teachers and students, develop, the feasibility of developing motung media (monster counting) in mathematics subjects, the addition material for grade 1 students in Elementary Schools. This research was conducted using the ADDIE development model. Data collection used a questionnaire sheet instrument consisting of a media needs questionnaire, an expert validation questionnaire sheet, a teacher and student response questionnaire to test the feasibility. The results of the expert questionnaire sheet were the results of media validation getting a percentage of 98.8%, material experts getting a percentage of 97.4%, user responses, namely teachers getting a percentage of 97.6% and implementation responses, namely students getting as much as 99.6%. Thus, the overall conclusion can be drawn that the Motung media is suitable for use in learning mathematics for addition material for grade 1 students in Elementary School.
