Abstract
Learning mathematics for students with disabilities is quite important to help solve problems in daily activities. The research aims to determine the basic mathematical abilities of students with disabilities in solving contextual problems concretely, visually and, formally. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The subject of the research was a student of tunagrahita in SLBN Karangrejo Madiun. Data collection using written tests and interviews on the results of written tests that have been done. The results of the study showed that students with disabilities varied in their work, none of which tended to be concrete, visual and formal. The conclusion of this study is that although students have been able to work on mathematics problems formally, the use of concrete objects and visualization of experiences that have occurred can increase the effectiveness of mathematics learning for students with disabilities.
