Abstract
Abstract: The activity and learning outcomes in IPAS-IPS for fourth-grade students at SDN 2 Tugurejo, Slahung District, Ponorogo Regency are still low. During the learning process, students appear passive, less interactive with their peers, bored, and quickly forget the material taught. The low social skills and learning outcomes are due to the learning process being teacher-centered, conventional in nature, and lacking in student-to-student interaction. To address this issue, the Problem-Based Learning model was applied as it can make learning less boring for students and allow them to interact with their peers. The purpose of this research is to improve social skills and learning outcomes through the Problem-Based Learning model. The subjects of this research were 15 fourth-grade students at SDN 2 Tugurejo, Slahung District, Ponorogo Regency. This research is Classroom Action Research consisting of two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The types of data collected include students' learning outcomes obtained using evaluation sheets and activity data obtained using checklists. The data obtained before applying the Problem-Based Learning model showed that only 40% of students had good and excellent learning outcomes. After applying the Problem-Based Learning model, there was an improvement. Students' social skills in cycle I were 60% and increased by 20% to 80% in cycle II. Students' learning outcomes in cycle I were 65% and increased by 15% to 80% in cycle II. The results of the research indicate that the use of the Problem-Based Learning model on the "Myself and My Needs" material can improve social skills and learning outcomes in IPAS-IPS for fourth-grade students at SDN 2 Tugurejo, Slahung District, Ponorogo Regency.
