Abstract

Education is an important element in human life, because with education a person can develop his social personality. Primary school education is the foundation for achieving national development and change. Includes elements of good facilities and infrastructure in it. In the development of knowledge and technology, the focus on character development in students in elementary school is often forgotten. One of the characters that need to be developed is the character of discipline. This study uses qualitative research aimed at understanding the phenomena of what the research subjects experience, such as behavior, perception, motivation, action, holistically through verbal and linguistic descriptions in certain natural contexts using various natural methods. The research method used is descriptive research, where data collection is words, pictures, and objects being studied. Discipline is important for student development. Based on the results of research at SDN Sempu, school culture is an effective means of shaping the character of student discipline. A consistent school culture, with the support of teachers and the school community, is the key to success in building the character of student discipline. This strategy is effective in building a generation of people who are disciplined, responsible, obey the rules, have good manners, and have time management skills. Consistent habituation is the main factor in shaping the character of students' discipline. Consistency in habituation helps students internalize the values of the discipline that ultimately shape character. . Teachers play an important role in shaping the character of student discipline. Teachers are not only tasked with providing instruction and supervision, but also providing an example in disciplining behavior.
