Keywords: TikTok application, Social Solidarity.The use of the TikTok application among 7th grade students at SMPN 13 Madiun has not yet been clearly identified in terms of its positive and negative impacts on social solidarity. This study aims to describe and explain the positive and negative impacts of using the TikTok application on the social solidarity of 7th grade students at SMPN 13 Madiun, as well as to describe and explain the factors that cause these positive and negative impacts.This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, which aims to portray phenomena in depth and systematically. The qualitative method was carried out through analysis based on observation, interviews, and documentation. The data validity techniques used were technical triangulation and source triangulation.Based on the data analysis and validity techniques, the findings indicate that the use of TikTok has a dual influence on social solidarity. The positive impacts include strengthening empathy, care, cooperation, participation, togetherness, appreciation, and positive communication among students. The negative impacts involve the weakening of social solidarity values due to digital distractions that delay empathetic responses, reduce the effectiveness of cooperation, lower tolerance, and encourage tendencies toward individualism.The factors influencing these impacts consist of internal factors, namely motivation, self-control, and students’ interaction patterns, as well as external factors, namely time duration, family environment, school environment, and peer relationships.
