Abstract
This study aims to enhance the speaking skills of Group A children at Al-Hidayah III Kindergarten, Madiun City, using finger puppets as a learning medium. Speaking ability is a crucial aspect of early childhood language development that requires stimulation through learning activities suited to children's characteristics. However, preliminary observations at Al-Hidayah III Kindergarten revealed that some Group A children exhibited limitations regarding the confidence and fluency of their speech. One contributing factor was the use of learning media that lacked appeal and failed to optimally stimulate the children's speaking abilities. Therefore, this study aims to examine the implementation of finger puppets to improve the speaking skills of Group A children at Al-Hidayah III Kindergarten, Madiun City. This study employs a collaborative classroom action research design based on the Kemmis and Taggart model, conducted over two cycles comprising the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were Group A children aged 4–5 years. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods and simple quantitative analysis (percentages) to track improvements in the children's speaking skills across each cycle.
