Eggo Wahyu Saputra. 2026. The Effectiveness of Psychoeducation Techniques via Group Guidance in Reducing Self-Doubt Regarding Career Selection at SMAN 1 Karas. Undergraduate Thesis. Self-doubt is a psychological issue frequently experienced by high school students, particularly during the career selection process. High levels of self-doubt cause students to question their abilities, potential, and intended decisions, thereby hindering the career planning process. This study aims to determine students' self-doubt levels before and after the implementation of psychoeducation techniques via group guidance, as well as to test the effectiveness of these techniques in reducing self-doubt among students at SMAN 1 Karas. The study employs a quantitative method with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research subjects are students at SMAN 1 Karas who exhibited moderate to high levels of self-doubt based on initial assessments. Data collection was conducted using a self-doubt scale instrument (Likert scale) that had undergone validity and reliability testing. Data analysis involved normality testing and a Paired Sample t-test using SPSS software to identify differences in scores before and after the intervention. The results indicate a reduction in self-doubt levels after students participated in group guidance services utilizing psychoeducation techniques. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores, demonstrating that psychoeducation techniques via group guidance are effective in reducing student self-doubt regarding career selection. Prior to the intervention, the mean pretest score was 311.9733, whereas after participating in the psychoeducation group guidance, the mean score rose to 337.7733. Thus, there was an increase of 25.80 points in the mean score following the intervention. Thus, the psychoeducation technique delivered through group guidance can serve as an effective alternative for career guidance and counseling services, helping students reduce self-doubt and increase their confidence in making career decisions that are more rational and aligned with their potential.
