Abstract
Bella Rahmanda Aprilia. 2026. Outdoor Learning Strategies for Children Aged 5-6 Years. Undergraduate Thesis. Early Childhood Teacher Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas PGRI Madiun. Supervisors: (I) Sofia Nur Afifah, M.Pd., (II) Dr. Alisa Alfina, M.Pd. This research is motivated by the importance of appropriate learning strategies in the implementation of outdoor learning activities for early childhood. The study focuses on the outdoor learning strategies employed for children aged 5-6 years at Masyithoh Islamic Kindergarten, Madiun City, covering the stages of planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation. The aim of this research is to describe these outdoor learning strategies. A qualitative approach—specifically a qualitative survey—was utilized. Data sources included primary sources (class teachers, the school principal, and children from class B2) and secondary sources (Daily Lesson Plans, activity schedules, child evaluation records, and documentation such as photos and videos). Data collection techniques involved observation, interviews, and documentation, with the researcher serving as the primary instrument, supported by observation and interview guidelines. Data validity was tested using source and technique triangulation, while data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman interactive model, comprising data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the outdoor learning strategy at Masyithoh Islamic Kindergarten, Madiun City, is a blend of direct, interactive, and experiential learning strategies, applied in an integrated manner across the planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation stages. The teachers' strategies across these four stages were effectively executed, enabling outdoor learning activities to run successfully and provide meaningful learning experiences for children aged 5-6 years. Keywords: early childhood, learning strategies, learning management, outdoor learning
