Abstract

This study aims to develop culture-based digital media to support narrative text reading skills among fourth-grade elementary school students. This study used a Research and Development (R&D) design with the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This study was conducted at SDN Grobogan 02, involving 20 fourth-grade students as research subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, expert validation sheets, teacher response questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. The developed media contains several features, including an opening page, digital attendance, user instructions, learning materials, learning resources, tiered exercises, educational games, and evaluation questions. The content integrates cultural elements through narrative texts, local stories, moral values, and cultural illustrations. The validation results showed that the media expert score reached 91%, categorized as very feasible, while the material and language expert score reached 83%, also categorized as very feasible. Furthermore, teacher responses obtained 98%, and student responses reached 98%, both indicating a very positive category. Therefore, culture-based digital media is feasible and interesting to support the teaching of narrative text reading in elementary schools.
