Abstract

This quantitative quasi-experimental study, utilizing a Nonequivalent Control Group Design, aimed to describe the effect of the TGT cooperative learning model assisted by KOKAMI media on students' comprehension of IPAS concepts regarding the human digestive system. The study was conducted at SDN 01 Manisrejo during the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Using a saturated sampling technique, the population and sample consisted of all 50 Grade V students. The sample was divided into two groups: Class VA (25 students) as the control group and Class VB (25 students) as the experimental group. Data were collected via a validated multiple-choice test, which demonstrated a Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient of 0.881 (indicating high reliability). Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 25, involving the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene's homogeneity test, and the Independent Sample T-test for hypothesis testing. The results showed an increase in mean scores from pretest to posttest: from 75.20 to 87.40 in the experimental group and from 68.20 to 83.60 in the control group. The Independent Sample T-test yielded a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.028 (p < 0.05); thus, the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H₁) was accepted. It is concluded that the TGT cooperative learning model assisted by KOKAMI media has a significant effect on the IPAS concept comprehension skills of Grade V elementary school students.
