Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Describe the application of Bojonegoro folklore in learning to read narrative texts in grade IV of SD Negeri Kanor I, Bojonegoro Regency; (2) Describe the challenges encountered during the process of applying Bojonegoro folklore in learning to read narrative texts in grade IV of SD Negeri Kanor I, Bojonegoro Regency. This research is a qualitative descriptive case study. The research subjects are grade IV students. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews and observation. The results of the study indicate that: (1) The application of Bojonegoro folklore in learning to read narrative texts in grade IV of SD Negeri Kanor I successfully presented a local context relevant to students' daily lives; (2) The challenges encountered during the application of Bojonegoro folklore in learning to read narrative texts include varying levels of students' reading abilities, time constraints, varying motivation levels, availability of reading materials, group dynamics, vocabulary mastery, and limitations of facilities and infrastructure.
