Abstract

The background of this study is the low motivation and learning outcomes of class VIIE students in social studies at MTsN 2 Madiun, indicated by the percentage of motivation and learning outcomes of class VIIE students of 30 students which is still less than 75%. This study aims to determine whether the use of Articulate Storyline learning media can improve the motivation and learning outcomes of class VIIE students in social studies at MTsN 2 Madiun. This study is a classroom action research carried out through two cycles and each cycle consists of 4 stages of activity, namely Planning, Implementation, Observation, Reflection. Data collection techniques used are observation, questionnaires, tests and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Data collection uses the results of observations, questionnaires and student learning outcome tests. The results of the study showed a significant increase in motivation, this can be seen from the average data of pre-cycle learning motivation of 49% including the low category, increasing in cycle I to an average of 62% including the medium category, in the implementation of cycle II student learning motivation data increased with an average of 83% including the high category. While student learning outcomes also increased, this is evidenced by the data of student learning outcomes pre-cycle, namely obtaining an average of 55, increasing in cycle I to an average of 76 and increasing in cycle II, namely 84 and the average classical completeness of students pre-cycle 27% increasing in cycle I to 70% and in cycle II increasing 93%.
