Abstract

Problem-solving skills in mathematics are important for improving students' understanding of mathematics and critical thinking. In solving problems, students are involved in facing various problems, both individually and in groups. This study aims to determine whether the TPS model assisted by Wordwall media affects the problem-solving skills of third-grade elementary school students in data presentation material. The research subjects were third-grade students from classes III A and III B at SDN Patihan Elementary School in Madiun City. The approach used was quantitative with a true experimental design, employing a posttest control group. Data were collected through tests, and the sample was selected using simple random sampling, consisting of 34 students: 17 students from class III A as the control group and 17 students from class III B as the experimental group. The results of the data analysis showed a difference in the problem-solving abilities of third-grade students before and after learning using the TPS model assisted by Wordwall media, with the average score increasing from 71.12 to 82.06. The hypothesis test showed that the sig value was < 0.05, namely 0.00 < 0.05. Therefore, the research findings indicate that the TPS model assisted by Wordwall media has a significant effect compared to the cooperative model assisted by PowerPoint in terms of problem solving ability.
