Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) How the development process of digital children's short story media using a problem-based model is carried out for improving reading literacy skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Bagi 03, 2) How the feasibility of digital children's short story media using a problem-based model for enhancing the reading literacy skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Bagi 03, and 3) How the learning outcomes related to reading literacy skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Bagi 03. The type of research used is Research & Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subjects of this development research were fifth-grade students at SDN Bagi 03. The results of the expert assessment analysis are as follows: media expert validation reached 100% with a highly feasible criterion, material expert validation reached 88% with a highly feasible criterion, and language expert validation reached 95% with a highly feasible criterion. The average score obtained from the experts was 94.5%, which is categorized as highly feasible. In addition to expert validation, the researcher also distributed response questionnaires to teachers and students. The teacher response score was 100%, categorized as very interesting, while the average student response score was 93.3%, also categorized as very interesting. Furthermore, the learning outcomes from the student worksheets (LKPD) reached 86.67%, categorized as very good, and the results from the summative evaluation averaged 92.083%, also categorized as very good. Based on the explanation above, it can be concluded that the development of digital children's short story media using a problem-based model for reading literacy skills is categorized as highly feasible, engaging, and very effective in improving students’ ability to read and understand children's short stories. Therefore, the digital children's short story media with a problem-based learning model is highly recommended for use by both fifth-grade students and teachers, and it is also recommended for further development by future researchers.
