Devi Nirmala Prasanti, 2026. The Effectiveness of Role-Playing in Group Guidance to Reduce Bullying Behavior Among 8th-Grade Students at SMPN 1 Sawahan, Madiun Regency. Supervisors: (1) Dr. Dahlia Novarianing Asri, M.Si., (2) Tyas Martika Anggriana, S.Psi., M.Pd. Bullying behavior remains a common issue in school environments. Many students lack an understanding of the various forms of bullying. This study aims to reduce bullying behavior among 8th-grade students at SMPN 1 Sawahan, Madiun Regency. This study employs a quantitative approach using an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research population consisted of all 115 8th-grade students. A purposive sampling technique was used to select eight students as the research sample. The instrument used was an adaptation of the Olweus Bully/Victim Questionnaire (OBVQ) developed by Gonçalves et al. (2016), with measurements focused on the Bully Scale to identify bullying behavior. Data were processed and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test formula in IBM SPSS. The findings showed that the bullying behavior scores for the eight 8th-grade students at SMPN 1 Sawahan, Madiun Regency, were 431 in the pre-test and 283 in the post-test. This demonstrates that group guidance using the role-playing technique is effective in reducing bullying behavior among 8th-grade students at SMPN 1 Sawahan, Madiun Regency. These results are expected to expand the knowledge of other researchers regarding the effectiveness of group guidance using role-playing techniques to reduce bullying behavior among students and serve as a reference for similar future studies.
