Noviana Nur Azizah, 2026. Application of Folklore Animation Video to Build Student Imagination in Writing Poetry to Class XI Students of State High School 1 Jiwan Madiun Regency. Thesis. Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, PGRI Madiun University. Supervisor (I) Prof. Bambang Eko Hari Cahyono, M.Pd., (II) Dr. The nature of Eko Putro Setiawan, M.Pd. Writing poetry requires imagination, creativity, and the ability to choose the right diction. However, students still often have difficulties in finding ideas, building imagery, and developing poetry poetically. This research aims to describe the application of animated videos of folk stories in learning to write poetry, the ability of students before and after using media, as well as obstacles that arise in learning. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interview, and documentation. Data sources include Indonesian teachers, students of class XI of SMA Negeri 1 Jiwan, learning process, and student poetry results. Research results show that animated videos of folk stories are able to help students understand the plot, characters, atmosphere, and message of the story. This media also encourages students to find ideas, build imagination, and pour them into poetry. After the application of media, student poetry becomes more developed from the aspects of theme, diction, imagery, language style, and mandate. Obstacles found include internet network, vocabulary limitations, and learning time. These obstacles are overcome through teacher guidance, giving examples, and writing guidance.
