Abstract

Motivation and learning outcomes are crucial aspects of successful learning. Low student engagement in learning can result in suboptimal learning outcomes. Efforts to improve the quality of learning align with SDG Goal 4—Quality Education—which emphasizes providing inclusive, high-quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all. Therefore, it is necessary to implement learning models and media that can encourage active student participation. This study aims to improve student motivation and learning outcomes through the implementation of a PBL model supported by Genially. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles with 28 tenth-grade students as research subjects. Data were collected through observation, a learning motivation questionnaire, and learning outcome tests. The results indicate that the implementation of the PBL model supported by Genially media can improve students’ motivation and learning outcomes. The average learning motivation score increased from 48.54 to 79.60. The average learning achievement score increased from 43.21 to 87.50, while the class pass rate increased from 7% to 100%. Thus, the implementation of the Genially-assisted PBL model can improve students’ motivation and learning outcomes.
