Abstract
This study aims to improve students' IPAS learning outcomes through the application of the Discovery Learning learning model assisted by monopoly media. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with the type of Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles. The research subjects consisted of 14 fifth-grade students of SDN Bendo 2. Data collection techniques include observation, learning outcome tests, and documentation. Data were analyzed descriptively by comparing learning outcomes in each cycle. The results of the study showed an increase in student learning outcomes from the pre-cycle to the second cycle. In the pre-cycle, only 3 students achieved learning mastery with a completion percentage of 21.43% and an average score of 60.71. After the implementation of the Discovery Learning learning model assisted by monopoly media in cycle I, the number of students who completed increased to 9 students with a completion percentage of 64.28% and an average score of 73.93. Furthermore, in cycle II after improvements were made to learning based on the results of reflection on cycle I, all students succeeded in achieving learning mastery with a percentage of 100% and an average score of 86.07. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Discovery Learning learning model assisted by monopoly media is effective in improving the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students of SDN Bendo 2 in science. Therefore, this learning model is worthy of being used as an alternative innovative learning strategy to improve student activity, understanding, and learning outcomes in science subjects in elementary schools.
