Abstract
The less than optimal writing skills of students on syllable material are caused by factors of the learning process that uses a direct learning model with lectures and blackboard media, decreased interest in learning and difficulty in fulfilling students' needs. The study was conducted to determine the significant effect of the use of the Course Review Horay learning model assisted by word tree media on the syllable writing skills of grade 1 students of SDN Bagi 02 Madiun. This study used a quasi-experimental type, a Nonequivalent Control Group Design design with a pre-test and post-test in the control and experimental classes. The number of samples in the control class was 7 students and the experimental class was 8 students. The data collection technique used was a test. The results of the study showed a significant effect of the use of the Course Review Horay learning model assisted by word tree media on syllable writing skills. This is evidenced by the increasing average in the pre-test and post-test, namely from 74.75 to 89.00. Also the highest value in the pre-test was 87 and the lowest was 67, while in the post-test the highest value was 95 and the lowest was 85. The results of the sig. value. (2-tailed) shows 0.012 < 0.05 so it can be concluded that there is a difference in the results of the student skills test between the control and experimental classes with the Course Review Horay learning model assisted by word tree media.
