Abstract
Observations at SDN 01 Winongo in learning, teachers explain the material about respiratory organs only using picture media. This causes students to get bored and less interested in learning. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the NHT type cooperative model assisted by prezi media on elementary school students' science literacy. This study was conducted by taking a sample of 18 fifth grade students of SDN 01 Winongo, Madiun City. This research method uses Classroom Action Research. Classroom Action Research is the most appropriate research to improve the learning process which has many problems experienced by teachers and students. This research was conducted in 2 cycles, where there were 3 meetings in each cycle. Each meeting consists of initial, core, and closing activities that refer to the NHT type cooperative learning model. Data collection techniques in this study were tests, observations, and documentation. The results of student observations in cycle I had an average observation of student activities in cycle I of 91%. The average in cycle II was 97%. The results of teacher observations in cycle I had an average observation of teacher activities in cycle I of 94%. The average in cycle II was 96%. The results of the first cycle test showed that there were 15 students who had scores above the KKM (Minimum Criteria Completion) of 75 with a percentage of 83%. There were 3 students who had achieved scores below the KKM (Minimum Criteria Completion) of 75 as many as 17%. From the above values, the average score of the first cycle test was 74. The results of the second cycle test showed that there were 17 students who had scores above the KKM (Minimum Criteria Completion) of 75 with a percentage of 94%. There was 1 student who still got a score below the KKM (Minimum Criteria Completion) of 75 as many as 17%. From the above values, the average score of the second cycle test was 86, so there was an increase from cycle I to cycle II of 11%. So it can be said that the learning activities have gone well. So this assessment shows that the NHT type cooperative model can improve the Science Literacy of fifth grade elementary school students.
