Abstract

Merdiana Kesumawati. 2024, Analysis of Students' Numeracy Literacy in Solving HOTS Questions in View of Students' Self-Efficacy. Thesis. Mathematics Education Study Program. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, PGRI Madiun University. Mentor (1) Vera Dewi Susanti, S.Pd., M.Pd., (ll) Tri Andari, S.Pd., M.Pd., Based on observations with the VlI class mathematics teacher, information was obtained that some students were still unable to solve HOTS-based questions. Students feel less confident in their answers and tend to wait for answers from their smarter friends. This research aims to analyze the numerical literacy of students at SMPN 2 Paron class VIII A in solving HOTS questions in terms of students' selfefficacy. The method in this research is a type of qualitative descriptive research by collecting data by filling out questionnaires, numeracy literacy tests and then interviews. Analysis of numeracy literacy data on the subjects of this research is based on the level of self-efficacy in solving HOTS questions, namely high selfefficacy, medium self-efficacy and low self-efficacy. The results of the research show that: 1) Students with a high level of self-efficacy are able to analyze information, are able to use symbols and numbers in solving a problem, and are able to interpret the results of an analysis that has been carried out on opportunity material, 2) Students with moderate self-efficacy are able to analyze information, are able to use symbols and numbers in solving a problem, but are less precise in interpreting the results of an analysis that has been carried out on opportunity material, 3) Students with low self-efficacy are less precise in analyzing information and using symbols and numbers in solving a problem However, students with low self-efficacy are able to interpret the results of analysis that has been carried out on opportunity material. Keywords: numeracy literacy, HOTS, self efficacy
