Abstract
Whera Dhebhitha. 2024. Multiple Personality of the Main Character in the Novel Luka Paling Dalam by Ari Keling (Psychological Study of Literature). Thesis. Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, PGRI Madiun University. Supervisor (I) Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, S.S., M.Pd., Supervisor (II) Dr. Agung Nasrulloh Saputro, M.Pd. This research aims to: 1) describe the personality forms of the main character in the novel Luka Paling Dalam by Ari Keling; 2) describe the inner conflict of the main character in the novel Luka Paling Dalam by Ari Keling which triggers the emergence of another personality (alter); 3) describe the relevance of the personality forms of the main character in the novel Luka Paling Dalam by Ari Keling to the realities of life. This research is literary research using a literary psychology approach. The data collection techniques used were reading, listening and note-taking techniques. Data analysis in this research uses narrative analysis, namely by describing the data, discussing the results, and making conclusions from the results. The results of this research are: 1) there are 3 personalities with different identities and personality aspects, namely Everin (host), Deva (alter), and Joni (alter). There are 9 categories of Everin (host) personality aspects from 31 data. There are 5 categories of Deva (alter) personality aspects from 17 data. Joni's personality aspects (alter) are 5 categories from 20 data; 2) inner conflict experienced by the main personality (host) which triggers the emergence of another personality (host) in 7 categories from 40 data which include feelings of inadequacy, feelings of pressure (depression), feelings of insecurity, feelings of fear, feelings of loneliness, feelings of annoyance to oneself, and feelings of sadness; 3) the relevance of multiple personality cases in real life includes 1 domestic case and 2 foreign cases.
