Abstract

Thesis entitled "The Use of Papan Jurang Learning Media (Addition and Subtraction Board) in Improving Mathematics Learning Outcomes at SDN Tawangrejo 2" is a thesis that takes a Classroom Action Research research model that aims to improve the creativity and innovation of teachers who teach mathematics in grade 2 of Elementary School. In its description, this Classroom Action Research (CAR) uses the Phenomenology Method by collecting data through direct observation accompanied by interviews. The Phenomenology Method is combined with pre-cycle activities. After finding the problem through this combination, the researcher began to carry out a series of research activities in cycle 1. However, the researcher finally designed cycle 2 due to the less conducive situation of the students in cycle 1. The three cycles have the same series of activities where each cycle begins with planning, implementing actions and ends with reflection. In this thesis, the researcher describes the findings and discussions based on 2 problem formulations, namely the technical application of the ravine board media in mathematics learning in grade 2 and improving the mathematics learning outcomes of grade 2 students of SDN Tawangrejo 2. In this study, the researcher obtained results where students experienced an increase in learning outcomes after implementing the Papan Jurang media.
