Abstract
UTILIZATION OF THE NEARPOD APPLICATION IN IMPROVING LITERACY SKILLS AND STUDENT PARTICIPATION IN SOCIOLOGY LEARNING FOR CLASS XI-5 STUDENTS AT SMA NEGERI 1 PULUNG PONOROGO ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/2024 Learning based on Information Communication Technology (ICT) or Information and Communication Technology (ICT) will greatly support the learning process in situations and conditions like this. One of them is by utilizing Nearpod, a learning support application that can be used to improve students' literacy and participation skills during Sociology learning. The focus of this study is to determine the use of the Nearpod application in improving students' literacy and participation skills in sociology learning for class XI-5 students of SMA Negeri 1 Pulung Ponorogo in the 2023/2024 Academic Year. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research was carried out in collaboration with biology subject teachers. Classroom action research consists of 4 stages, namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Class problems in the study were handled by actions in the form of Utilizing the Nearpod Application. To obtain field data as material for this research, the researcher used data collection techniques through tests and observations. Data analysis was carried out by calculating and comparing the average test/assessment of literacy and participation skills to obtain final conclusions. The results of this classroom action research and referring to the formulation of the problem, it can be concluded that the use of Nearpod application learning media in improving literacy skills and student participation in sociology learning for class XI-5 students of SMA Negeri 1 Pulung Ponorogo in the 2023/2024 Academic Year.
