Abstract
Career exploration is the ability to seek, obtain, and manage various types of career information and all forms of personal activities in preparing a student's career. The career information referred to includes information about jobs, positions, and education, whether general information such as supported educational levels or information about the environment related to the job itself according to the student's abilities. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of classroom guidance services using project-based learning techniques to enhance career exploration among 8th grade students at SMPN 1 Balong in the 2023/2024 academic year. This research is a quantitative experiment using a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The population in this study consists of 150 8th grade students at SMPN 1 Balong, with a sample size of 30 students. The research used purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was a questionnaire based on a Likert scale. The indicators of career exploration are: 1) making efforts to explore and seek career information from various sources, 2) having sufficient information, and 3) having knowledge of one's own potential. The method used in this analysis was the paired sample t-test. Based on the data analysis results, there was an influence of classroom guidance services using project-based learning techniques on improving career exploration among students, as indicated by the differences in the average scores between the pretest and posttest results. The distribution of data calculations was performed using the paired sample t-test formula through SPSS version 16. Before hypothesis testing, a prerequisite test with a data normality test was conducted. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that classroom guidance services using project-based learning techniques are effective in enhancing career exploration among 8th grade students at SMPN 1 Balong in the 2023/2024 academic year.
