Abstract

This study is about the problems in speaking skills in grade 3 of SDN 01 Nambangan Kidul related to the skills of pronunciation of articulation or words in conveying ideas or feelings. Speaking skills are very important and need to be developed from an early age. The purpose of this study is to describe the planning, implementation, and improving speaking skills in grade 3 elementary school students. Speaking activities can motivate and provide reactions in expressing their opinions. This study uses classroom action research (CAR) and is carried out by teachers and researchers. Data collection techniques used are documentation, observation, and tests. The results of this study were conducted using a sample of grade 3 students of SD 01 Nambangan Kidul totaling 24 students. The results of the test scores for cycle I had an average of 67.70 and for cycle II an average of 85.95. So in the improvement of cycle I and cycle II it can be said that the learning activities have gone well. It can be concluded that picture board media can improve the speaking skills of grade 3 students at SDN 01 Nambangan Kidul.
