Abstract
ABSTRACT Muhammad Fikri Fadholi. 2024. The Inner Conflict of the Main Character in the Novel Half past five by Rintik Sedu (Literary Psychology Review). Thesis. Indonesia Language and Literature Education Study Program, PGRI Madiun. Supervisor (I) Dwi Rohman Sholeh, S.S., M.Pd., (II) Devi Cintia Kasimbara S.Pd., M.A. Literary works are descriptions of human life based on real life from the observations of a literary artist. In literary works, the story is very varied, one of which is by presenting disputes or conflicts that occur to the characters. Problems or conflicts that arise in characters in the story are related to psychological conditions related to psychology. This research focuses on (1) describing the inner conflict experienced by the main character in the novel Half-Five by Rintik Sedu, and (2) describe the causes of inner conflict experienced by the main character in the novel Half-Five by Rintik Sedu. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a literary psychology approach. The technique used in this study is a content analysis technique carried out by researching the content of the novel Half-Five by Rintik Sedu. The novels studied are included in the written document. The analysis technique is carried out through four stages, namely reading repeatedly, marking sentences or paragraphs related to the research, analyzing data with personality structure theories, namely, id, ego, superego, and concluding the results that have been obtained. The results of the study showed the contradiction between id, ego, superego, feelings of trauma, hatred, lies, disappointment, complicated love, the conflict between hope and reality. These conflicts of feelings make the psychological condition of the main character disturbed. Keywords: inner conflict, structure of diversity, psychoanalysis.
