ABSTRACT Rahmadona Mutiara Arifa. 2024. The Principle of Cooperation as a Form of Humor in the Lapor Pak Show on Trans Television, the episode of the Mathematics Test for Jerome Polin. Thesis. Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, FKIP, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Advisor (I) Dr. Bambang Eko Hari Cahyono, M.Pd. (II) Asri Musandi Waraulia, S.Pd., M.Pd. This study aims to describe the application and violation of the Gricean cooperation principle in the Lapor Pak show on Trans Television, the episode of the Mathematics Test for Jerome Polin. This study focuses on the form of compliance and violation of the Gricean cooperation principle in the Lapor Pak show, the episode of the Mathematics Test for Jerome Polin which was published on July 24, 2023. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a sociopragmatic approach. The data collection technique used is, observe and record, the data is then grouped based on the type of maxim of cooperation, namely the maxim of quantity, the maxim of quality, the maxim of relevance, and the maxim of implementation. The results of the study found that there were applications and violations of the maxim of cooperation in the Lapor Pak broadcast on Trans Television, the episode of Tes Matematika untuk Jerome Polin. In the broadcast entitled Tes Matematika untuk Jerome Poli, there were 22 compliances with the maxim of quantity, 14 compliances with the maxim of quality, 5 compliances with the maxim of relevance, and 2 compliances with the maxim of implementation. In addition, there were also violations, namely 5 violations of the maxim of quantity, 2 violations of the maxim of quality, 12 violations of the maxim of relevance, and 1 violation of the maxim of implementation. Grice's cooperative principle in the broadcast of the Mathematics Test for Jeome Polin is dominated by violations of the maxim of quantity and violations of the maxim of relevance.
