Abstract

The development of digital media, Google Sites, is designed to be web-based which is able to make learning interesting and can be accessed by users anytime and anywhere via mobile phones or other devices. The aims of this research are 1) to develop digital media based on Google Sites to support the ability to read and understand narrative texts for fourth grade elementary school students; 2) testing the feasibility of digital media based on Google sites; 3) find out the level of practicality of digital media based on Google sites. This development research uses the ADDIE model with 5 stages. A total of 16 class IV students at SDN Rejomulyo 1 were the subjects of this research. The research results state that (1) the product produced is digital media based on Google Sites as a medium to support the ability to read and understand narrative texts for fourth grade elementary school students; (2) digital media based on Google sites received an average assessment from material and media experts of 88.19% with very valid criteria so that the product could be tested in elementary schools; (3) digital media based on Google sites received a positive response from students and met the very practical criteria based on the practicality indicator with a percentage of 93.57%, while the results of the teacher's response also received a positive response and met the very practical criteria with a percentage of 98.33%. Thus, it can be concluded that the product can be used to support students' reading comprehension skills in narrative texts.
