Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that there are still students who have not fully mastered reading skills, including not knowing letters, difficulty distinguishing letters, and not being able to read simple sentences. Therefore, the study aims to determine the effectiveness of the SAS (Structural Synthetic Analytics) method using flash card media on the reading ability of 2nd grade elementary school students. This study uses a type of quantitative research using an experimental method.The design used in this study is Pre-Experimental (non-design) or One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. This research was conducted at SDN Manguharjo, Madiun City. How to collect data by taking scores from pretest and posttest that students have done. The data that has been collected is then analyzed using reliability tests, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests (t-test). The results obtained in this study are the reading ability of grade 2 elementary school using the SAS method using flash card media increased compared to before the implementation of the SAS method using flash card media in the learning process. The hypothesis test in this study showed a p-value (sig.) of 0.000 which means that it can be concluded that the SAS method can provide effectiveness on the reading ability of grade II elementary school.
