Abstract

: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of abc teaching materials with the iqro' method on the basic reading skills of elementary school students. The subjects of this study were 20 lower grade students of SDN 01 Mojorejo who were not yet skilled at basic reading. The research instrument was a test, namely pretest and posttest. The results of this study indicate that there is a difference in the effectiveness of basic reading skills in the control class before and after the implementation of abc teaching materials with the iqro' method. Thus, the use of abc teaching materials with the iqro' method has proven effective in improving the basic reading skills of lower grade students of SDN 01 Mojorejo. It is hoped that abc teaching materials with the iqro' method can be an alternative learning media used by teachers in improving students' basic reading skills.
