Abstract

This research aims to find out how the application of the syllabic method affects the learning outcomes of grade 1 students in reading in Indonesian language learning, and to improve the reading ability of grade 1 elementary school in Indonesian language learning after implementing the syllabic method. Where this research examines the application of the syllabic syllable method) which can influence initial reading ability, marked by an increase in initial reading ability in each cycle. The basis for this theory is that the syllabic method is a way of introducing letters to students by combining syllables into letters and finally into words to show that reading is a unified activity such as recognizing letters and words, connecting them with their sounds and meanings, and drawing conclusions about their meaning. answer. This research uses the Syllabic method, a syllabic method in which learning uses words that have been strung together by syllables. Then, combined into a sentence by forming diction that has meaning for the reader. The conclusion of this research is seen from the Syllabic research method, SDN Purworejo in its learning model uses a low grade reading method, namely the SAS method which I feel is less effective in the initial reading learning process, so it tends to be boring for students and it is very difficult for them to understand the teacher's explanation. The result is that SDN Purworejo 2 class 1 is currently not reading fluently. It is very inefficient because children spell words one after another.
