Abstract

Character education is an effort to instill good values and habits in students, so that they can behave and act in accordance with these values. This character education aims to improve the quality of school education results which not only leads to the achievement of intellectual intelligence, but also leads to the achievement of character formation, namely the development of positive character in the daily lives of students. Through learning fables, these character values are easy to develop in the world of education, especially for children in elementary school. This research aims to identify the character values in the story texts contained in the mollusk educational fable book. This research includes qualitative research as research that uses descriptive data, which means the research is presented in the form of words or sentences that are arranged systematically during the data collection process. The data in this research are statements containing character values in the fable text entitled mollusk educational fable. Data collection techniques are carried out using documentation techniques, namely data collection that collects and analyzes. Data analysis is carried out by collecting data for further analysis, summarizing the data (reducing data), and drawing conclusions. The results obtained in this research produced 5 (five) character values. The character values in the four stories in the Mollusk Educational Fable Book are religious, mutual cooperation, independence, integrity, and nationalist. The character values found in the fable text in the mollusk educational fable book are religious value as much as 1 data, nationalist value as much as 1 data, independent value as much as 1 data, independence value as much as 3 data, value of mutual cooperation as much as 3 data. And the integrity value is 1 data. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the values that appear most frequently are the value of independence and the value of mutual cooperation.
