Madiun: Master of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Madiun University Postgraduate Program, Supervisor I Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, S.S., M.Pd., Supervisor II Dr. Agung Nasrulloh Saputro, S.Pd., M.Pd. Keywords: Essay writing skills, Copy the Master method Learning Indonesian aims to ensure that students understand Indonesian in all its forms, meanings and functions, and use it appropriately and creatively for various purposes, needs and situations. Learning to write at school can be presented through essay writing activities. So to expedite the process of learning to write, it is necessary to help improve essay writing skills. The problems examined in this research are 1) Improving Essay Writing Skills and learning behavior through the Copy the Master Method for class V students at SDN 2 Somoroto, Kauman District, Ponorogo Regency, Academic Year 2023/2024. 2) Describe that with the copy the master method the essay writing skills of class V students at SDN 2 Somoroto, Kauman District, Ponorogo Regency, have improved. The research design used was classroom action research carried out in three cycles. In each cycle, there are four stages that are commonly passed, namely: (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observing, (4) reflecting. The data analysis technique uses a formula to find the mean. The research results showed that the mean or average obtained in the first cycle was 59.13, in the second cycle 64.65 and in the third cycle 74.45. Based on the mean results obtained from each cycle, it can be concluded that the writing skills using the copy the master method of class V students at SDN 2 Somoroto have improved. Research can be developed because research results are more effective and can create a conducive classroom atmosphere, students are active and creative, so that student learning outcomes can improve.
