Abstract

Reading is one of the language skills that must be mastered. And as the main capital for students in participating in classroom learning, especially beginning reading skills. One of the learning methods that can be done used to improve beginning reading skills is a method Synthetic Analytical Structural (SAS). This research aims to apply SAS method in Class 1 Indonesian language subjects at SDN 01 Banyudono. This type of research is classroom action research. Objects in this research is a class I student at SDN 01 Banyudono. Data collection techniques through observation, test and reflection. The research results show that skills students' beginning reading with the SAS Method can improve at Indonesian language learning in class I. Results obtained from this research is an increase in the completeness of students' cognitive learning outcomes before using the SAS method in the pre-cycle reached 47% and experienced improvement in cycle I after using the SAS method with completeness Student cognitive learning outcomes reached 93%. The conclusion of this research is Synthetic Structural Analytical (SAS) methods can improve skills beginning reading for class I students at SDN 01 Banyudono.
