Abstract

This research is based on problems that occur in the field, namely teacher incompatibility in implementing learning models and learning media which results in low student interest in learning. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using the Problem Based Learning learning model assisted by Flipbook media on students' interest in learning science and science in class V. This research is a type of quantitative research with a quasi-experimental type of research with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample used was class V students at SDN 01 Winongo who were taken using a random sampling technique with class VA totaling 20 children as the control class and class VB totaling 20 children as the experimental class using the Problem Based Learning learning model assisted by Flipbook media. The data collection technique in this research is using questionnaires and tests. The data analysis in this research includes a normality test using the Shapiro Wilk test and a homogeneity test in the experimental class and control class. Next, it will be tested to check the hypothesis. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the test result data from the two classes were normal and homogeneous. Then the data will be analyzed using the t test. The results of the t test show that the average test score for the experimental class is 81.55 and the control class is 74.15 and the average test score for the experimental class is 88.25 and the control class is 40.25 and the p-velue value in the respective questionnaires each class is 0.000 with a significance level of 5%, then Ho is rejected and Hi is accepted. The conclusion of this research shows that there is effectiveness in using the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Flipbook media on interest in learning science and science for fifth grade elementary school students.
