Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the Project Based Learning model assisted by diorama media in increasing the creativity and learning outcomes of grade V students in the independent curriculum. This study took the research subject of grade V students at SDN Ngegong, Manguharjo District, Madiun City with a total of 31 students with details of 13 males and 18 females. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method. The data collection techniques used in this study are observation, tests, and documentation using quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques. This research was carried out in 2 cycles where each cycle consisted of one meeting. Each meeting consists of initial activities, core and closing activities, with reference to the syntax of the project-based learning model, namely making basic questions, making project planning designs, preparing project creation schedules, monitoring project activity and development, testing results, and evaluation. The results of the pre-cycle test obtained a percentage of completeness of 35%, cycle I of 61%, and cycle II of 84%. The results of the observation score of student creativity in the pre-cycle obtained a score of 301 with a total percentage of 48.5% in the low creativity category, the first cycle obtained a score of 438 with a percentage of 70.6% in the medium creativity category, and the second cycle obtained a score of 482 with a total percentage of 78.7% in the high creativity category. The value of diorama products produced by students from cycles I and II also increased. With the increase in creativity and learning outcomes through observation and test scores from cycles I and II, it can be said that this learning activity has been running well. So this study shows that the application of a project-based learning model assisted by diorama media can increase students' creativity and learning outcomes.
