Abstract

Learning in science and science material requires a learning flow that invites students to be proactive in creating their understanding. Apart from that, student activity in learning is related to the level of student understanding and student activity in the learning process has an influence on the level of understanding obtained by students. This research aims to determine the effect of audio visual media based on the guided inquiry model on learning outcomes in grade 4 science subjects at SDN Ngegong. This research focuses on SDN Ngegong, which is located on Jl. Keningar No.13, kel Ngegong, kec. Manguharjo, Madiun City. This research uses a quantitative approach which is collected through measurement instruments with an interval scale. The type of research used in this research is time series. The research design used was one group pret-test post-test design. The population in this study were class IV students at SDN Ngegong located on Jl. Keningar No. 13, Manguharjo District, Kab. Madiun. The number of samples to be studied is 18 male students and 12 female students. From the results of the discussion in the research and the formulation of the problem, it is known that audio-visual media based on the guided inquiry learning model is effective in terms of the science learning results on the norm indicators in my local customs. The difference between the average scores of the pre-test and post-test shows this. The pre-test score obtained an average of 72.83, while the post-test score obtained an average of 87.00. The results of the hypothesis test showed that the p-value was less than 0.05 so that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. So it can be said that audio visual media based on the guided inquiry learning model is effective on the science learning outcomes of class IV students.
