Abstract

The research aimed to describe the implementation of problem based instruction learning model to improve the motivation and result of learning on social science of fifth grade students. This research was classroom action research with 2 cycles consisting of 4 stages namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subject of the research was fifth grade students of 03 Madiun Lor Elementary School in academic year 2023/2024. The technique of data collection used observation, questionnaire and test. The technique of data analysis used qualitative descriptive in which the research report used table, graph, and the explanation. The result showed that (1) based on the result of the observation done by the researcher that the teacher had done all the steps of problem based instruction. (2) Problem based instruction could improve the motivation of learning of the students of fifth grade at 03 Madiun Lor. Elementary Schooll (3) Problem based instruction could improve the score of the fifth grade students at 03 Madiun Lor Elementary School, the improvement of average score from pre cycle 72,59 improved to cycle I 74,81, and improved in cycle II 86,67.
