Abstract

Learning Indonesian using Discovery Learning Assisted by Media Question Box is used to improve students' speaking skills. Improving student learning outcomes is also the main focus of this research. Therefore, the aim of this research is to evaluate the use of Discovery Learning Assisted by Question Box Media to improve students' speaking skills in front of the class. This research was conducted by class IV students at SDN 01 Nambangan Kidul in the academic year 2023-2024. Fourteen students were selected to be research subjects. This research uses pre-experimental. The instruments used are pre-test, post-test and questionnaire. Normality test, descriptive statistical analysis, paired samples T test were used to analyze the data using SPSS 16. The average result of the pre test was 51,21 and the post test was 89,14 This means that the average post-test score is higher than the pre-test. The results of the Paired Sample T-test obtained a score of 0,779 > 0,05. Meanwhile the student motivation questionnaire showed good results. Questionnaire answers show that students are able to carry out teaching and learning activities effectively. The alternative hypothesis conclusion is accepted. This means that the Discovery Learning method assisted by Media Question Box is effectively used to measure students ability to speak in front of the class.
