Improving Speaking Skills through the Storytelling Method Assisted by Canva-Based Learning Media for Third-Grade Students of SD Negeri Gongseng, Megaluh District, Jombang Regency. Thesis. Madiun: Master's Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Graduate School, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Advisors: (I) Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd. (II) Dr. Lulus Irawati, S.S., M.Pd. Keywords: speaking skills, storytelling, Canva-based learning media, Classroom Action Research. This study aimed to improve the speaking skills of third-grade students of SD Negeri Gongseng, Megaluh District, Jombang Regency through the storytelling method assisted by Canva-based learning media. The study was motivated by the students' low speaking skills, particularly in pronunciation, intonation, fluency, word choice, story content mastery, expression, and speaking confidence. This study employed Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, speaking performance tests, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results showed an improvement in students' speaking skills. The percentage of students achieving mastery increased from 57.00% in the pre-action stage to 73.00% in Cycle I and further increased to 90.86% in Cycle II. Students' learning activities also showed positive development. They became more active in paying attention to stories, understanding story content, practicing, discussing, and retelling stories orally. Canva-based learning media helped present stories visually, making it easier for students to understand the sequence of events and develop their speaking skills. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the storytelling method assisted by Canva-based learning media can improve the speaking skills of third-grade students of SD Negeri Gongseng, Megaluh District, Jombang Regency.
