Abstract
Linda Triwahyuni. 2026. The Implementation of the Two Stay Two Stray Learning Model with Barcode-Based Flipchart Media in Narrative Text Writing Instruction for Fifth-Grade Students of SD Negeri Bandarkedungmulyo 1 Jombang. Thesis. Master's Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Postgraduate School, PGRI Madiun University. Advisors: (I) Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd.; (II) Dr. Panji Kuncoro Hadi, S.S, M.Pd. Keywords: two stay two stray, barcode-based flipchart, narrative text writing. This study aims to describe the implementation process of the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) cooperative learning model integrated with barcode-based flipchart media in narrative text writing instruction, and to analyze its strengths and weaknesses in the fifth grade of SD Negeri Bandarkedungmulyo 1 Jombang. A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis involving one teacher (GK-01) and six students (S-01 to S-06). Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana (2019) interactive model. Findings reveal that implementation proceeded through six systematic phases: preparation, media orientation and demonstration, group discussion, stay-stray rotation, independent writing, and presentation with reflection, with a notable positive learning curve across meetings. Key strengths include heightened student motivation and engagement, enriched narrative writing through cross-group idea exchange, multimodal learning experiences, and improved cooperative attitudes and selfconfidence. Identified weaknesses — limited smartphone access, insufficient time allocation, rotation management complexity, and high media preparation demands — are all characterized as mitigable rather than inherent. This study concludes that the TSTS–barcode flipchart integration constitutes an effective and replicable innovation for narrative writing instruction in Indonesian elementary schools.
