Abstract
This study was motivated by the low levels of social and speaking skills among children in Group A-1 at TK Bakti, Madiun City. The study aimed to improve these two skills through the use of hand puppet media. The method employed was Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 18 children, including 10 boys and 8 girls. Data were collected through observation and documentation and analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis. The results showed an increase in social skills in the Very Well Developed (BSB) category, from 5.6% in Cycle I to 83.3% in Cycle II. Speaking skills in the BSB category increased from 0% in the pre-cycle to 88.9% in Cycle II. The use of hand puppet media created an interactive and enjoyable learning environment and encouraged children to communicate, cooperate, and express their opinions with greater confidence. Therefore, hand puppet media was effective in improving the social and speaking skills of children in Group A-1 at TK Bakti, Madiun City.
